25th Anniversary News!

Paloma Spring Mountain Merlot; Napa Valley, CA
Special 3 bottle vintage 2013, 2014, and 2016 vertical

High above the Napa Valley and the morning fog, Spring Mountain AVA is generally 15-20 degrees cooler on hot summer days than the valley floor vineyards. The more moderate temperatures and volcanic soils are what make Paloma wines so special, adding layers of complexity to the mid-palate and long finishes.

Paloma started in 1994 and by 2001 the Merlot was named Wine Spectator's Wine of The Year, and graced the their Top 100 again in 2006 and 2008. The winery continues to produce first class Merlot and Cabernet, expanding faithful followers around the world.

2013 Vintage – “This is a strong effort from Paloma that has made its reputation for ripe, sexy, full-bodied Merlots. This wine exhibits plenty of plum, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, mocha and coffee bean in a lush, delicious and opulently textured style. It is drinking beautifully already and will continue to evolve for another decade or more.” Wine Advocate issue #227

2014 Vintage - 100% Merlot and bears a dense core of intense dark fruits, beautifully intertwined with Chinese black tea, muddled blackberries, eucalyptus, bay leaves, and subtle spice box.  This wine is irresistible right now and opens up beautifully in glass, revealing new and interesting components with each swirl.

2016 Vintage - A blend of Merlot (85%) with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). It is fermented in French oak—33% new—for 18 months before being bottled and then bottle-aged for an additional eighteen months.

The 2016 Paloma Merlot soars out of the glass with gorgeous notes of rich, dark fruits, dominated by blackberry and blueberry, complemented by subtle notes of anise, cocoa, and bramble. The wine has a luscious mouthfeel, with sweet tannins and beautiful ripe fruit on the mid-palate revealing a long, silky finish.

(3 bottle gift pack of each vintage for $189, or single bottles $69.99 each)
